Ok, here's how things are going to work:
There will be a point system on the website. Posting events gives you points. Paying gives you points, but those don't count towards monthly posting incentives.
Every day depletes one point from your point pool. This means that to be an active member on the website once it goes members-only it will either cost money, or you need to post some events.
The most posts this month: This prize goes to the person with the most points earned in the calendar month. Note that you can earn incentive points for posting networking events OUTSIDE your area! So you can post neighboring county events, and they count towards your points.
Top point awards: The top 5% or 10% of point earners that month will be placed into a random drawing (computerized) to select the winner. Let me know if you think it's a good idea to have a "Kudos" page on the site that thanks the top point earners with a listing of those people's name and their website link -- that would be another terrific way to promote their businesses AND I can make that "thank you" page public, so Google can find it and index your name & company link. Nice, eh? I can provide an opt-out setting on your profile page.
I will accept several types of ad sponsors for the website:
Prize sponsors: If your organization puts up an incentive prize, it must be worth over $50. There will be two incentive prizes per month (the most posts, top posters drawing). I will probably eventually change it to two prizes per month per region. Prize sponsors will get something like 60 points, those points will count towards membership but not towards incentive prize eligibility. Prize sponsors get a prominent ad on the site for the month, the ad can link to their website. Ads will only display in the areas the prize is offered to -- i.e. if it's a prize in Orange County, it would only display on pages related to Orange County events.
Event ad sponsors: Some ads will be accepted that advertise specific business events or ongoing networking events. It will be a price-per-county charge for something like a 125px by 125px ad. The ads will rotate and display only on pages related to the county in question. With the price of placing the ad, the advertiser will get membership points -- it would be silly to have their membership expire while their ad is running, right?
No other ads will be accepted. Either you have an event to advertise, or you're donating a prize of over $50 value.
Should I call the points NAPs? (Networkaholics Anonymous Points)
